Terms of service
These terms cover purchases from The Jewelry Studio, including complete rings, U.S. shipping, custom work, warranty, payments and insurance information.
Effective October 22, 2026. These terms apply from publication. The terms disclosed for an earlier purchase, and any more protective rights you have under applicable law, remain available to you.
Custom-design service amendment: The custom-design service provisions take effect only upon their publication and apply to new design-service agreements made on or after that publication date. They do not change earlier agreements or reduce any rights preserved by applicable law.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

- Phone: (646) 554-3729
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., New York time, excluding U.S. federal holidays. This is not a promise of immediate or round-the-clock response.
- Address: 580 Fifth Avenue, Office 721, New York, NY 10036. Visits are by appointment only.
Obtain return authorization and the exact recipient and insured shipping instructions before sending goods.
2. Orders, accounts and prices
Place an order only if you are legally able to enter the purchase agreement, or with a parent or guardian who can do so. Provide accurate information and use payment methods you are authorized to use. Protect account credentials and report suspected misuse.
Prices are in U.S. dollars (USD). The final agreed order shows the selected goods, applicable taxes, delivery and any optional service charges before payment. We do not add services or increase an agreed price without your consent.
3. Product descriptions and complete rings
Read the specific item’s metal purity, stone origin, individual or total stone weight, dimensions, size, included components and grading information.
- A mounting price and a center-diamond price are separate components of a complete-ring total. A displayed mounting price alone is not an offer to buy a standalone setting. We do not offer standalone setting purchases.
- Any use of a customer-supplied stone requires separate inspection and a written work order.
- Illustrative renderings or enlarged images must be identified where used and do not excuse a materially inaccurate description.
- Lab-grown diamonds must be described as lab-grown; simulants and relevant treatments must be identified accurately.
Ask us before ordering if a specification is unclear.
4. Availability, errors and order changes
An acknowledgment confirms receipt of your order. If availability, a material pricing error, fraud screening or a legal restriction prevents fulfillment on the agreed terms, we will contact you promptly. We will not substitute an item or collect an increased amount without your agreement. If we cannot fulfill the order and you do not agree to a lawful alternative, we will cancel and refund the affected payment. Later website or policy changes do not rewrite an existing purchase agreement.
5. U.S.-only shipping and delivery
Delivery is available only to U.S. addresses for which the order process offers a delivery service. International delivery is not offered. The delivery charge and any address restrictions must be disclosed before payment.
We provide an order-specific shipment estimate and distinguish production or preparation from carrier transit. Do not rely on a general production estimate as a guaranteed arrival date. For custom work, the written order identifies the approved specifications, production start conditions and shipment estimate. We will not take payment on an unsupported shipment promise.
6. Shipment delays, cancellations and refunds
We must have a reasonable basis for an advertised shipping time. If no shipping time is stated, the FTC rule generally requires a reasonable basis to ship within 30 days after receipt of a properly completed order. If we cannot ship by the applicable deadline, we will provide the required delay notice and cancellation option, obtain any required consent to further delay, or cancel and promptly refund. These protections also apply to custom orders. Refunds due under that rule are initiated within seven working days after the right arises, or sooner if required; a separate return-inspection timetable does not extend this deadline.
7. Delivery problems
Keep your tracking details and tell us promptly about a missing, damaged or incorrect shipment. We will work with you and the carrier to investigate and provide the remedy required by the order and applicable law. A carrier scan, signature request or insurance claim does not by itself eliminate your consumer rights or automatically transfer all delivery risk to you. Do not send a return until we provide the correct instructions.
8. Standard returns
Eligible standard jewelry, including discounted standard items, has a 30-calendar-day return-request window after delivery, with no restocking fee. Custom and personalized exceptions require clear advance disclosure. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for condition, verification, discreet packaging, customer-paid insured change-of-mind shipping, refund amounts and timing. The policy is available in writing on request. Mandatory remedies are preserved.
9. Custom orders, engraving and cancellation
Custom-design services and the deposit
Our custom-design service fee is $350 USD per project. The design deposit is an advance payment of that fee for separately agreed design services. Before you pay, your written proposal or authenticated order identifies the project, the design work included, any applicable tax and when you authorize that work to begin. Additional work or charges require your agreement before that work is performed.
Paying the design deposit authorizes only the design work you have agreed to. It does not authorize jewelry production or require you to purchase jewelry.
- If you purchase custom jewelry for the same project, every dollar of the design deposit that remains paid to TJS is credited toward the final agreed jewelry total. The final written order shows that total, the deposit credit and the remaining balance, so the deposit is not charged again on top of the agreed total.
- If you cancel before authorized design work begins, we refund the design deposit in full.
- If you cancel or choose not to purchase jewelry after authorized design work begins, we retain only the reasonable portion of the $350 design fee earned for authorized design work actually performed within the agreed scope and refund any unearned remainder. Payment or the start of work alone does not make the entire fee earned. If we properly complete the agreed design services, the $350 earned design fee is non-refundable for a change of mind, including deciding not to buy jewelry or simply disliking a design that meets the agreed brief. This does not limit remedies for design services not provided as agreed or any rights required by applicable law.
- If TJS does not provide the design services as agreed, we refund any unearned amount and provide any further refund or other remedy required by applicable law. Calling a payment a deposit or design fee does not waive your rights for nonperformance, unauthorized work or material misdescription.
To cancel design work or request a design-service refund, email support@thejewelrystudio.us with the project or payment reference. We explain any amount retained by reference to the agreed scope and authorized work performed. No physical jewelry return or return inspection is required for a design-service refund. Refunds go to the original payment method unless you agree to another lawful method or the law requires otherwise, within any applicable legal deadline.
Jewelry production and engraving
Before custom production or engraving, we require written approval of the design, dimensions, metal, stones, engraving text and font where applicable, total price, shipment estimate and final-sale conditions. A normal catalog size, metal or diamond selection is not automatically custom.
- You may cancel a genuine custom jewelry order for a full refund of jewelry-production payments until both written production approval has been given and approved production or personalization has begun. Any separately agreed design-service payment is handled under the design-service rules above; only a lawfully earned fee for authorized design work may be retained.
- After both events, change-of-mind cancellation and returns are not available, provided this restriction was clearly disclosed and agreed in advance.
- Changes after production begins require a written feasibility, price and timing agreement.
- We do not impose an undisclosed cancellation fee or automatically forfeit an unearned design payment. Payment alone does not make a design fee earned.
Delay, defect, wrong-item, misdescription and other mandatory remedies still apply.
10. Customer-supplied stones and design materials
Do not send a customer-supplied stone unless we first agree in writing to assess or accept it. Before work, a written agreement must identify its inspected condition, the work, custody and shipping arrangements, and any specific risks and remedies. No blanket waiver of our legal responsibilities is implied. Provide only drawings or images you have permission to use. We may use submitted materials as needed to discuss and fulfill your request; marketing publication requires separate permission where applicable.
11. Warranty, care and resizing
Any product-specific written warranty offered with your purchase will be available before purchase and honored according to its terms and applicable law. These terms do not create a separate lifetime warranty, free-resizing plan or insurance product, and do not remove any express or implied warranty or other rights you already have.
Contact us with a suspected defect. Repair and resizing availability depends on the design, material and condition; we will provide a quote and obtain agreement before chargeable work. Do not assume every ring can be resized. Routine care advice is not a condition that automatically voids all rights.
12. Payments, financing and insurance information
Use only payment methods actually offered by TJS’s checkout or an authenticated written order. Optional financing, if available, is subject to the named provider’s terms and approval; we do not promise eligibility or a rate. An inquiry or support request is not a payment authorization.
TJS does not provide personal jewelry insurance through these terms, and an appraisal or grading report is not an insurance policy. A shipment-insurance arrangement is separate from personal coverage after delivery. No insurer partnership or universal insurance coverage is implied.
13. Privacy, accessibility and honest reviews
Our Privacy Policy describes personal-information handling. Accepting purchase terms is not separate consent to marketing emails, calls or texts.
If a page or feature is difficult to use, email support@thejewelrystudio.us and describe the assistance needed; assistance does not replace our accessibility obligations.
You may share honest reviews, including criticism. We do not impose penalties for honest reviews or demand ownership of them. For material submitted for display on our site, permission is limited to displaying and formatting that submission for its intended purpose, subject to applicable rights.
14. Responsible use and resolving concerns
Do not commit fraud, access accounts without permission, introduce malicious software or infringe others’ rights. We may take proportionate measures against unlawful activity or security threats. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted website availability, but an outage does not remove obligations for an existing purchase.
Contact us with concerns; doing so does not require you to waive a complaint, payment dispute, statutory remedy or access to court. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, a blanket indemnity, or an exclusion of liability or warranties that applicable law preserves. Applicable federal and state law governs; no clause removes mandatory protections available in your state.
